Straco has acquired a majority stake in Incendin, the European market leader in the development and production of eco-friendly innovative fire retardant and fire resistant applications in the construction and manufacturing industry.

Incendin manufactures specialised environmental-friendly and innovative formulations for fire-resistant and fire-retardant applications used in the production of wood panels, textiles, portable fire extinguishers and specialised extinguishing systems. The company has a broad portfolio of in-house developed high-tech products thanks to its specialized in-house R&D lab.

The group, headquartered in Willebroek, has two production sites in Belgium and sells from offices in Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom and France to the rest of the world, generating a turnover of EUR 65 million.

Incendin was founded in 2000 by three Flemish entrepreneurs under the name Ecochem, after which GIMV invested in 2014 to build an acquisition platform under the Incendin banner.

Together with the founders and management, GIMV realised five successful acquisitions. Management headed by Tom Paemeleire remains on board with the founders to continue the ambitious growth plan together with Straco.

With Straco's support, Incendin wants to continue to grow through international acquisitions to strengthen its European market leadership.

Incendin is Straco's fifth acquisition. Earlier this year, the Belgian investment holding company also set up an office in Amsterdam to further expand its private equity strategy.

Het investeringsfonds Straco wordt meerderheidsaandeelhouder van Incendin, Europese marktleider in de ontwikkeling en productie van eco-friendly innovatieve brandvertragende en brandwerende toepassingen in de bouw en industrie.

Incendin maakt gespecialiseerde milieuvriendelijke en innovatieve formuleringen voor brandwerende en brandvertragende toepassingen die gebruikt worden in de productie van houten panelen, textiel, brandblussers en gespecialiseerde blussystemen. Incendin beschikt over een brede portefeuille van eigen ontwikkelde hoogtechnologische producten dankzij haar gespecialiseerd in-house R&D lab.

De groep uit Willebroek heeft twee productiesites in België en verkoopt vanuit België, Duitsland, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Frankrijk naar de rest van de wereld en is goed voor een omzet van 65 miljoen euro.

Incendin werd opgericht in 2000 door 3 Vlaamse ondernemers onder de naam Ecochem waarna GIMV in 2014 investeerde om te bouwen aan een overnameplatform onder de vlag Incendin.

Samen met de oprichters en het management realiseerde GIMV vijf succesvolle overnames. Het management onder leiding van Tom Paemeleire blijft met de oprichters aan boord om samen met Straco het ambitieuze groeiplan verder te zetten.

Incendin wil met de steun van Straco blijven groeien via internationale overnames om zijn Europees marktleiderschap te versterken.

Incendin is de vijfde overname van Straco. Eerder dit jaar richtte het Belgische investeringsholding ook een kantoor op in Amsterdam voor de verdere uitbouw van haar private equity strategie.
